70 Years of Camp Haccamo Magic: Celebrating Seven Decades & Looking Ahead
The Camp Haccamo family gathered recently at the Pittsford Fire Station for an unforgettable Anniversary Celebration. Rotarians, alumni, partners, and friends came together to honor seven decades of serving children and young adults with developmental and behavioral disabilities, a population that relies on Camp Haccamo as a truly unique, irreplaceable resource in our region.

Inspiring Words & Lifelong Connections
The evening featured powerful reflections on what makes Camp Haccamo so special. Wade Norwood (husband of District Governor Lisa Norwood) spoke movingly about his family’s deep, long-standing connection to the camp. Attendees also heard directly from Lindsey Post, who shared a heartfelt camper perspective on how valuable, unique, and empowering the Haccamo was for her.
It was a night full of incredible highlights. Along with our guest speakers we had the opportunity to present the inaugural Camp Haccamo Champion Awards to Chuck Krause and Dolly Kujawa whose extraordinary leadership and decades of devotion to camp deserves the brightest spotlight. Special thanks to our celebrity emcee, News 8 Anchor Adam Chodak who was joined by his mom, Liz Konar, who began volunteering at camp in 1970, served as a counselor and eventually director until 1980! We owe a huge thank you to the Pittsford Fire Department Band who brought incredible energy to the party. In one of the night's sweetest moments, camp counselors from the 1990s, including Adam’s mom, sang the camp song to the crowd!
